Description of Services:

Doug Richardson is originally from Pittsburgh and grew up there during the heyday of the steel industry. He thought all stone buildings were naturally black, and the sky was naturally gray.He came to Boston in 1966 to go to college and discovered the wonders of the blue sky, the ocean, Boston, and New England in general. With the exception of brief interludes in Texas and Michigan, he has been here ever since. He continues to earn his living through a career in Information Systems.

Doug has been interested in photography for his entire life. During the last four years this interest has blossomed into a passion. He has been exploring various types of photographic subjects and techniques, and have enriched both his skills and his life through classes at Cambridge Center for Adult Education, New England School of Photography, and various seminars and workshops. He is a member of Boston Photography Center and is currently sharing studio space near Logan Airport.

Doug was a city dweller in Boston for more than 25 years. He discovered several years ago that the power of love can not only move various obstacles, but can also be an impetus for profound personal change. It led him to move to Salem, MA three years ago, and la to Gloucester last year. There Lianne and Doug now live surrounded by more natural beauty than they ever dreamed of. It is a long way away from the steel mills, both in space and time.

Doug's artistic focus has gravitated toward themes that embody an element of mystery, as well as portrait photography. He is currently building a portfolio of creative portraits, and will gladly offer his portrait services at no cost in exchange for the experience. Photo Gallery: Carnival, Ferris Wheel, Power Plant, Snowy Owl
